I · The History
But what were they really afraid of?
40,000–60,000
An estimated number of people executed during the European witch hunts, 15th–18th centuries. Most were women.
The record
Throughout history, people have feared what they could not understand.
Between the 15th and 18th centuries, an estimated 40,000–60,000 people were executed during the European witch hunts. Most were women.
Accusations of witchcraft were shaped by religious beliefs, social tensions, fear, prejudice and struggles over authority.
Many innocent people lost their lives because they were believed to possess powers that threatened the natural order.
A deeper question
But history invites us to ask a deeper question:
How often do we fear what we do not yet understand? And how much knowledge remains undiscovered simply because we have not learned where to look?
Knowledge has been feared, challenged, protected and passed down throughout generations.
Today, we have an extraordinary opportunity to study the human experience through history, psychology, philosophy, science and the wisdom of those who came before us.
Perhaps the greatest mystery isn’t what lies beyond us, but what remains undiscovered within us.
Historical estimates: Brian P. Levack, The Witch-Hunt in Early Modern Europe; Ronald Hutton, The Witch: A History of Fear.
II · The Misconception
I’m glad you asked.
To me, tarot isn’t about predicting an unavoidable future.
It isn’t about surrendering your power to fate, destiny or somebody else’s interpretation of your life.
It’s about knowledge. And knowledge is power.
Tarot is a symbolic language. A collection of imagery, archetypes and stories that can help us reflect on the experiences we all share: love, grief, fear, change, conflict, uncertainty, hope and transformation.
When we explore these symbols, we create an opportunity to explore ourselves.
We begin asking different questions.

Why am I feeling this way?
What patterns keep repeating?
What am I avoiding?
What am I ready to change?
What do I already know, deep down, but haven’t yet found the words to express?
Tarot doesn’t need to tell you who you are. It can help you remember.
III · The Wisdom
A lifetime of things to discover.
A traditional tarot deck contains 78 cards, divided into two interconnected systems.
22 cards exploring the bigger picture
These cards represent archetypal themes and significant human experiences. They invite us to examine identity, transformation, uncertainty, responsibility, awakening and personal growth.
56 cards exploring everyday life · four suits
Emotions, relationships and connection.
Thoughts, communication and conflict.
Creativity, ambition and action.
Resources, stability and the material world.
Each card contains layers of symbolism that can be explored through history, art, philosophy, mythology and personal interpretation. The imagery invites us to consider perspectives we might otherwise overlook.
The cards don’t make your decisions. They help you explore them.
A note on history: tarot began as a card game in 15th-century Italy. Its use for reflection and divination developed later, from the late 18th century onward.
IV · The Human Experience
You can learn to understand it.
Think about your car.
If something stops working, you don’t simply say, “Well, I guess that’s just how it is.”
You investigate. You learn how the different parts work together. You seek out somebody with knowledge and experience. You discover what needs attention, what can be improved and what will help maintain it.
Why should we approach our inner world any differently?
Our emotions, behaviours, beliefs and experiences are complex. But complexity doesn’t mean they’re beyond understanding.
Psychology, neuroscience, philosophy and lived experience have given us extraordinary ways to explore the human mind. And there is still so much more to learn.
Tarot is one reflective tool that can support this process. It gives us a symbolic starting point for meaningful conversations about where we are, what we’re experiencing and where we might want to go.
It is not a replacement for mental health treatment, but it can be a space for personal reflection, self-awareness and exploration.
Understanding yourself is not about having every answer. It’s about learning which questions to ask.

V · The Next Step
Everyone says, “Take it one step at a time.”
Sometimes we know something needs to change. We can feel it.
We’re overwhelmed, disconnected, uncertain or caught in patterns we don’t fully understand.
People tell us to trust ourselves. To follow our intuition. To take the next step.
But what if we don’t know what that step is?
That’s where I come in.
Not to tell you what your future holds.
Not to make your decisions for you.
And certainly not to convince you that somebody else knows your life better than you do.
I’m here to sit alongside you. To explore your experiences, ask meaningful questions, uncover different perspectives and help you reconnect with your own understanding.
Because I believe that so much of what we’re searching for begins with learning to listen to ourselves.
I’m not here to give you your power.
I’m here to help you recognise the power you already have.

A student of life, symbolism and the human experience.
For the past decade, I’ve dedicated myself to studying esoteric traditions, symbolism and the deeper questions of the human experience.
My interests have taken me through psychology, philosophy, spirituality, ancient wisdom and the fascinating relationship between intuition and knowledge.
I’ve spent years working with people through difficult experiences, emotional challenges, uncertainty and personal transitions.
And one thing continues to inspire me:
Every person carries a lifetime of wisdom within them.
Sometimes we simply need the right conversation, the right question or a different perspective to uncover it.
My approach to tarot combines intuitive interpretation, symbolic knowledge and meaningful conversation.
I don’t believe my role is to tell you something you don’t already know about yourself. My role is to help you discover what you might not yet have recognised.
I am also, and always will be, a student. I continue to read, study, question, reflect and work through my own experiences.
Because I believe that the more deeply I understand myself and the world around me, the more thoughtfully I can support the people who come to me for guidance.
I don’t claim to know everything. In fact, I believe wisdom begins when we’re willing to acknowledge how much we have yet to learn.
And I would love to explore some of life’s bigger questions with you.
With love,
Bella

VII · Still Skeptical?
You don’t have to believe in magic.
You don’t have to believe that the cards can predict your future.
You don’t even have to consider yourself spiritual.
All I ask is that you arrive with curiosity.
A willingness to reflect. A question you’re ready to explore. And an openness to discovering something about yourself.
Because whether you’re navigating a relationship, experiencing a transition, feeling emotionally stuck or simply curious about tarot, there is value in taking time to examine your life.
You don’t need to believe in magic to believe in the power of understanding yourself.
No. All I ask is that you arrive with curiosity, a willingness to reflect and a question you’re ready to explore.
To me, tarot isn’t about predicting an unavoidable future. A reading is a space for interpretation, reflection and perspective, so you can explore your situation and discover your next step.
We meet by video on FaceTime or Google Meet. I show you the cards and explain the symbolism as we go, so you understand the why behind every message.
No. Tarot is not a replacement for mental health treatment, but it can be a space for personal reflection, self-awareness and exploration.
